Reviews on the product page. What brands are testing.

Reviews on the product page covers whether and where reviews show — star summary, review section, featured review, customer photos — and how they are summarised. ABSee has recorded 10–20 brands testing it between July and October 2026.

What it is

Most product pages carry reviews somewhere. The question brands test is how close to the decision they should be: a star row under the title, a single review card in the buy box, or a full section further down the page. A newer strand is the summary — a short written round-up of what reviewers say, often written by AI.

Every experiment in this group sits on the product page: in the buy box, under the title and price, or in the reviews section mid-page.

What brands tried

The experiments in the record fall into a few themes, all seen between July and October 2026. No brand is named in this section.

Reviews in the buy area. Several brought reviews up to where the shopper buys: a star row under the add-to-bag button, a verified review card under the size picker, or a top-rated badge under the price.

Review summaries. Several added a summary — a short written one, often AI-written, or a “what customers are saying” sheet with quotes and photos behind the reviews link.

Whether to show them. Several tested presence itself: a star summary or a whole reviews section removed, including an empty one, against one added.

Order and style. A couple moved things up or down the page, such as customer photos moved higher or recommendations placed above the reviews. A couple restyled the summary or showed a timed review pop-up.

What this page does not tell you

  • Whether it works. There are no outcome rates here. Outcomes — whether each brand kept the change — are tracked per experiment and are part of the Intelligence plan.
  • Whether it will work for you. Your shoppers, prices and range differ from the brands in the record. A change one brand kept can fail on another site.
  • Why a brand decided. One experiment is one brand's decision. The record shows what the brand did next, not the measured lift behind it.

ABSee is experimentation intelligence for ecommerce: a record of real experiments run by 1,150+ brands, with the page before, the version tested, and whether it was kept. How the record is built.

How to use this

Treat this page as evidence for a hypothesis, not an answer.

  • Bring it to your own hypothesis. Name the problem on your own product page that this change would address, and for which shoppers.
  • Check the record for your category. Look for brands like yours, the version they tested, and what they did next.
  • Test it yourself. Your own experiment is the only result that applies to your site.

Questions

Do reviews on the product page increase conversion?

ABSee does not publish a rate for this or any other pattern. What the record shows is what brands tried and, for each experiment, whether the brand kept the change. Those outcomes are part of the Intelligence plan.

Which brands have tested reviews on the product page?

ABSee has recorded 10–20 brands testing them between July and October 2026. This page does not name them. The record does, with the page before and the version tested for each experiment.

Where should reviews go on the product page?

ABSee does not recommend a placement. In the record, reviews are tested in the buy box, under the title and price, and in a reviews section mid-page, and some brands test AI-written summaries behind the reviews link. That is what brands tried, not where it works best.
