Pulse

Fashion pulse, October 2026. What fashion brands are testing.

This pulse covers what fashion brands are testing on their own sites: experiments first recorded over the latest month of the ABSee record. ABSee has recorded 100+ brands testing here over the 30 days to 4 October 2026.

What brands are testing

Nine themes this month. From the product page to the cart.

Each tile is one kind of change fashion brands were first seen testing in this window. The chip is a size word: how many brands in this set tested it.

  • many

    Product-page recommendations

Similar-items rows and drawers, complete-the-look tiles, and recommendations moved above reviews.

  • many

    Buy box and sticky add-to-bag

Sticky bars added, slimmed or removed; taller or recoloured buttons; save-for-later beside add-to-bag.

  • many

    Category tiles and filters

Sale filters and switches, pinned filter bars, quick-add removed or swapped for a plus icon.

  • many

    Homepage hero and entry points

Hero photo swaps, still against moving footage, category tiles replaced by pills.

  • several

    Product details layout

Details collapsed or opened by default, tabs turned into a stacked list, bullets above add to cart.

  • several

    Gallery and imagery

A video clip leading the gallery, lifestyle photos swapped, fabric close-ups used as swatches.

  • several

    Reviews and proof

Review summary sheets, recent-purchase and weekly-view counters, a press-quote panel.

  • a couple

    Virtual try-on pulled back

Try-on removed from product or category pages, or its button relabelled.

  • a couple

    Bringing shoppers back

    A browser-tab title that changes to a come-back message, and a resume-where-you-left-off pop-up.

This page is finalised at month end.

The themes, one by one

The themes, one by one. What brands actually changed.

Four of the themes, with what brands changed. The two named examples were first seen before this window and were still running into it; they show the format, not this month's set.

Buy box and sticky add-to-bag

Brands added, slimmed or removed sticky add-to-bag bars, made the button taller or a new colour, let it work before a size is chosen, or put save-for-later beside it. Moncler relabelled its purchase button to ask for a size first.

Gallery and imagery

A video clip leading the gallery, a video slide removed, thumbnails moved, and fabric close-ups doing the job of colour swatches. Balenciaga gathered every colour and material into one row under the product.

Virtual try-on pulled back

A couple of brands removed try-on from product pages or from a category, and one relabelled its try-on button. The record shows the change, not the reason behind it.

Bringing shoppers back

First recorded in this window: a browser-tab title that switches to a come-back message when the shopper moves to another tab, a resume-where-you-left-off pop-up, and a cart-reminder card on the homepage.

What a record looks like

One experiment, in full. The record behind every theme.

Every theme above is made of records like this one, with every field shown: before and tested, what changed, the likely hypothesis, the takeaway, the dates and what the brand did next.

Product page wishlist button redesign
What changed
Relocates the wishlist button and updates its icon to a bookmark.
Likely hypothesis
By relocating the wishlist button next to the product title and testing a bookmark icon, we can increase the wishlist addition rate, because placing the action in the shopper's primary reading path improves its discoverability.

Problem being solved and strategic takeaway
Problem being solved
Standard wishlist button placement and default icons are often easily overlooked by shoppers.
Strategic takeaway Intelligence plan
Positioning secondary actions like save options directly alongside primary focal points like product titles improves interaction consistency.

Bring a hypothesis

Bring a hypothesis. See who tested something like it.

Three hypotheses a fashion team might bring to its assistant this month, each written as if, then, because:

  • RecommendationsIntelligence plan
Our hypothesis: if we move complete-the-look tiles above the reviews, then more shoppers will add a second item, because they see the pairing before they leave the page.

Comes back with comparable experiments, for and against.

  • Try-onIntelligence plan
Our hypothesis: if we remove virtual try-on from the product page, then more shoppers will reach add to bag, because the page has one less detour.

Comes back with comparable experiments, for and against.

  • Sticky add-to-bagIntelligence plan
Our hypothesis: if we slim the sticky add-to-bag bar, then more shoppers will scroll to the details, because the bar hides less of the page.

Comes back with comparable experiments, for and against.

What this page does not tell you

What this page does not tell you. And why.

  • Whether it works

No outcome rates. Whether each brand kept a change is part of the Intelligence plan.

  • When a brand started

First seen is when ABSee first recorded a test, not when the brand began it.

  • What will work for you

One experiment is one brand's decision, with its own shoppers.

Questions

Questions

Which of these fashion experiments worked?

ABSee publishes no rate for any theme here. The record shows, per experiment, whether the brand kept the change; that is part of the Intelligence plan.

Which brands are in this pulse?

Fashion brands in the ABSee record; footwear and accessories are separate categories. The named examples on this page are Moncler, Balenciaga and AllSaints; the others are named in the record.

Does this show what is popular this season?

No. Many brands entered the record in September, so counts cannot show a change in popularity. The page says what brands are testing, not how often compared with before.

When is this page final?

At month end. The URL stays the same; next month's pulse gets its own page.
