VWO alternatives. For ecommerce teams, by real adoption.

Other than VWO, the testing tools ecommerce brands run most are Optimizely, AB Tasty and Dynamic Yield. VWO is now part of Wingify, alongside AB Tasty, so the real choice is between Wingify and another vendor that fits your team and stack.

How to read this

  • Rank is each tool's place in the overall ranking of testing and personalisation tools seen on ecommerce sites, where VWO ranks third. The rounded shares are in the market share report; the full list, with profiles, is in the A/B testing tools guide.
  • Each line sticks to what the vendor publishes about its own product. It is not a score.
  • The sample is brands in the ABSee record — mostly mid-to-large ecommerce, weighted to fashion and to Europe; only tools that load in the browser are visible, so server-side testing is undercounted.

Disclosure: ABSee is not a testing tool and takes no affiliate fees. ABSee is experimentation intelligence for ecommerce: a record of real experiments run by 1,150+ brands, with the page before, the version tested, and whether it was kept. The same public visits show which testing tools each site loads.

What VWO is now

VWO and AB Tasty have combined under the Wingify brand, and both of their websites now lead to wingify.com. Wingify sells six suites: experimentation, personalisation, analytics (heatmaps, session recordings, funnels and surveys), feature management, commerce and customer engagement. Its AI is called Wingz AI, and its feature experimentation product has an MCP server for AI coding tools.

So a team looking at VWO alternatives is choosing between staying with Wingify, in either product, and moving to another vendor.

Which fits, by need

An enterprise suite

Optimizely (ranks first, very common) sells experimentation with a content management system, personalisation and feature management; its MCP server needs its Opal add-on. Adobe Target (ranks sixth, common) is the testing tool in Adobe Experience Cloud. Kameleoon (ranks eighth, common) puts experimentation and feature management on one platform for marketing, product and engineering teams.

Self-serve testing with public pricing

Convert (ranks seventh, common) is an A/B testing tool for growth teams, CRO agencies and developers, with a visual editor, SDKs and its own MCP server. It publishes its pricing and a free trial.

Shopify-native

Intelligems (ranks number 9, occasional) tests prices, offers, shipping and content on Shopify. Shoplift (rare in the record) calls itself a CRO platform built for Shopify and builds tests in the Shopify theme customiser.

Open-source or warehouse-native

GrowthBook (ranks number 10, occasional) is open source, warehouse-native and can be self-hosted. Statsig (rare in the record), part of Amplitude since May 2026, and Eppo, now Datadog Experiments (rare in the record), suit engineering-led teams. Much of their testing runs on the server, so the browser undercounts them.

Personalisation-led

Dynamic Yield (ranks fourth, common), owned by Mastercard, and Monetate (ranks fifth, common), which acquired SiteSpect in 2025, lead with personalisation and recommendations, with testing inside.

Before you move

  • The jobs VWO did besides testing. If your team uses Wingify's heatmaps, session recordings or surveys, the new stack needs something for that job too. The CRO tools guide covers behaviour analytics.
  • Your history. Past results stay in the old account. Export them first.
  • Setup you rebuild. Goals, audiences and analytics links move by hand.
  • A clean start. Many teams run an A/A test first — the same page in both arms — to confirm the new tool splits traffic and counts conversions cleanly.

Whichever tool you pick, it runs the test; it does not tell you which test to run. ABSee shows what other brands already tested on the same page, and whether they kept it, inside Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini.

Questions

What is the most common alternative to VWO?

Among ecommerce brands in the ABSee record, the most-run testing tools other than VWO are Optimizely, AB Tasty and Dynamic Yield. VWO itself ranks third. That is adoption, not a verdict on which is better for you.

Is AB Tasty an alternative to VWO?

It is a separate product (ranks second, very common), but no longer a separate company: AB Tasty and VWO have combined under the Wingify brand. If you want a different vendor, look at the other options on this page.

What is a good VWO alternative for Shopify?

Shopify apps such as Intelligems (ranks number 9, occasional) and Shoplift (rare in the record) test the store's own prices, offers, templates and content. Any of the platforms on this page also runs on Shopify.

Which VWO alternatives publish their pricing?

Of the tools on this page, Convert and GrowthBook publish their pricing, and GrowthBook has a free open-source version. Optimizely and Wingify, which now sells VWO, offer plans through a demo or a custom quote.

Is this ranking paid for?

No. ABSee is not a testing tool and takes no affiliate fees. Tools are ranked by how often they are seen on real ecommerce sites.
